Valley Fiber Artists

Reception – Oct 25, noon to 3pm (with demonstrations)

The Valley Fiber Artists are pleased to announce the first exclusively “fiber” art show in the region. This exhibit will showcase the talents of the artists to include quilting, weaving, embroidery, felting, knitting and more. Emphasis will be on the use of fiber for visual appreciation rather than functional practical value. Historically textiles were only seen for their utility such as clothing and household items. Seeing the potential for variety and decoration, the use of fabrics became a craft, particularly in quilting. Enter the 1980s, there was a ground swell movement to elevate the use of fabric to become an art form, successfully vying to position itself as fine art. No cost for admission.
